The Lakeland men's volleyball team capped a three-match road swing with a 25-14, 25-20, 25-14 victory at Marquette in a Wisconsin Volleyball Conference match on Thursday evening.
The Muskies (12-2 overall, 6-2 WVC) have won three straight, all on the road against conference foes, and haven't dropped a set in the stretch. Lakeland is ranked No. 2 in the NCVF Mizuno Men's Division 1 Rankings.
Middle hitter Avdo Omerbegovic (Chicago, Ill.) turned in a fine performance for the Muskies, posting 12 kills with a .786 hitting percentage to go along with six blocks.
Sophomore setter Mitch Wiskirchen (Schaumburg, Ill.) tallied 39 assists, while sophomore libero Andrew Cheever (Milwaukee, Wis.) recorded a team-high nine digs.
Lakeland returns to action this Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 27-28, at the Hoosier-Illini Classic in Bloomington, Ind. Match times and opponents are TBA.
