Blahnik selected for CoSIDA academic honor

Senior forward KC Blahnik of the Lakeland women's basketball team has been named to the 2009-10 CoSIDA ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America District 5 first team.
Blahnik, a native of Gladstone, Mich., is a psychology major with a 3.93 grade point average. This is the second consecutive year she has been named to the All-Academic District 5 first team for women's basketball. She is also a 2008-09 third team Academic All-American for softball.
She is averaging a team-high 15.5 points through 19 games this season. She also lead the Muskies in rebounds per game (8.9) and steals (50). She ranks third in the Northern Athletics Conference in points per game and is seventh in rebounds per game.
She recently became the eighth women's basketball player in program history to score at least 1,000 points in a career.
Blahnik was named second team all-NAC for the second season in a row after receiving NAC All-Rookie team accolades in her first season.
