Blahnik named Second team All-Region

Lakeland women's basketball player KC Blahnik has been selected to the D3hoops.com 2010 All-Region Second team.

The Gladstone, Mich. native finished fourth in the Northern Athletics Conference in scoring as she averaged a career-high 15 points per game in her senior campaign. She also placed sixth in the conference in rebounding, pulling down 8.7 boards per game, 10th in field goal percentage (.436), and averaged 2.6 steals per contest, fifth in the NAC.

"KC had a great senior year, and this is another compliment to her success," Lakeland coach Teri Johnson said. "Her tenacity and strong mental game have allowed her to keep improving and take her game to the next level."

Blahnik ended her final season in style as she was named the 2010 NAC Player of the Year and selected First Team All-NAC after having been selected Second Team All-NAC her sophomore and junior seasons. She was also a three-time NAC Student Athlete of the Week recipient this season

She was selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Second Team after being named First Team All-District V earlier in the season with a 3.93 grade-point average.
