European Soccer Tour: Blog #3

Athletics - posted on 3/19/2010

The Lakeland soccer program is spending its spring break on a 10-day European Soccer Tour in the United Kingdom.

During the visit, members of the men's and women's soccer teams will compete against local soccer teams, visit tourist attractions and attend professional soccer games in and around London and Chester.

Student-athletes from both teams will be blogging regularly throughout the trip. See below for their thoughts and observations from England.

We saw the Windsor Castle, home of the royal family, and it was huge! The England flag was raised from one tower, which represents that members of the royal family were present at that time. We were able to take a picture with a Wales Guard, however not able to take any pictures inside of the castle. It was beautiful inside and out.

On the ride to practice we saw many sheep roaming the fields, similar to the cows back in the Sheboygan area. We then trained and headed back to the hotel for the night.

Today, we were able to see a bit of London as we headed towards the Chelsea Football Club stadium, Stamford Bridge for a guided tour. Then the guys had their final game today, which resulted in a 1-0 WIN! Great job guys!
