Seniors KC Blahnik (Gladstone, Mich.) and Chelsea Coenen (Wrightstown, Wis.) have been selected to the 2010 Northern Athletics Conference All-Conference first team as selected by the NAC coaches.
This is Blahnik's fourth all-conference award after being selected first team in in 2007 and 2009 and a second team choice in 2008. The 2009 softball Player of the Year, she hit for a .462 batting average, good for fourth in the NAC. She led the NAC in on-base percentage (.550) and walks (22), finished second in runs scored (53), third in slugging percentage (.709), tied for fifth in triples (5) and tied for seventh most hits in the conference (54).
Balhnik was also named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 5 First Team. She was a Third Team Academic All-America selection in 2009 and is now eligible to be voted an Academic All-American after being selected to the first team in her district this season.
Coenen was selected to her third straight all-NAC team after being named first team in 2009 and second team in 2008. She leads the nation with 14 triples this season after breaking her school record of 11 set last season. She also leads the NAC in slugging percentage (.868), hits (64), runs (57) and total bases (118).
Senior pitcher Sara Roberts received her third all-NAC recognition after being awarded first team accolades in 2007 and 2009. She compiled a 16-6 record with a 2.72 ERA in 21 starts. She struck out 87 and walked just nine batters in 139 innings. While she was selected as a pitcher, Roberts led the NAC with 46 RBI while hitting .333 with seven doubles, two triples and three home runs.
Freshman Jenny LaLuzerne was Lakeland's lone selection to the NAC All-Freshman team. She has hit for a .415 average in her first season while driving in 38 runs and scoring 28 times with seven doubles and six triples.
Freshman Erin Henk was the Muskies representative on the NAC All-Sportsmanship team.
