All streaks come to an end. When the Milwaukee School of Engineering volleyball team beat Lakeland College, 3-2, in a Northern Athletics Conference match Friday night, it snapped a Lakeland win streak that stretched back 16 years.
Lakeland head coach Chad Schreiber had never lost to MSOE since take over the Muskies' program in 1995.
The Muskies (3-12, 1-3 NAC) lost by scores of 25-27, 25-22, 25-17, 25-22, 15-13.
Lakeland seniors Sam Shepeck (Gladstone, Mich.) and Kristine Raeder (Sheboygan Falls, Wis.) and junior middle Allison Davis (Sheboygan, Wis.) all set team season highs in the losing effort.
Shepeck recorded the season's best individual attack percentage (.500) in a match, Davis recorded the individual kills mark with 16 and Raeder set the individual high this year for sets in a match with 44.
The Muskies have a quick turnaround as they continue NAC play Saturday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. in Rockford, Ill. Rockford is 1-10, 0-3 in the NAC.
