Men's golf picked fifth in preseason poll

 

The Lakeland men's golf team has been picked to finish fifth by Northern Athletics Conference coaches in the NAC preseason coaches' poll.

 

The Muskies received 56 points. Lakeland was fifth at the 2009 conference tournament, and junior Gary Petit (Monroe, Wis.) received All-NAC recognition and finished seventh at the NAC Championships.

 

Edgewood topped the poll, receiving 90 points and five first- place votes. Last season's NAC winner, Aurora, was four points behind Edgewood with 86.

 

The Muskies open their 2010 season Sept. 3 at the Glen Erin GC in Janesville, Wis. Lakeland will host this year's NAC tournament on The Irish Course at Whistling Straights in Haven.
