Women's tennis selected 10th in preseason poll

The Lakeland women's tennis team has been selected to finish 10th by Northern Athletics Conference coaches in the NAC preseason coaches' poll.

Two- time defending conference champion Edgewood has been picked to finish first. They received 136 points and seven first- place votes.

Concordia-Wis., last year's runner-up, was selected second with 132 points and four first-place votes.

The Muskies finished 10th in the NAC last season with a 1-10 overall record. Sophomore Nicole Shavlik finished fourth at No. 1 singles to lead the Muskies.

Lakeland opens its season at home against Aurora University on Sept. 4.
