Women's volleyball picked to finish second in preseason poll

Athletics - posted on 8/30/2010

The Lakeland women's volleyball team has been picked to finish second by Northern Athletics Conference coaches in the NAC preseason coaches' poll

The Muskies received 143 points and one first-place vote.  Last season, Lakeland won the NAC Tournament and shared the regular season title with Dominican.

Head coach Chad Schreiber is flattered the Muskies were picked second, but doesn't place much weight on preseason polls.

"We lost of a big chunk of our lineup. It's flattering that we have the respect of our peers, but we still have to give 100 percent each game," said Schreiber.

Dominican was picked to finish first, receiving 166 points and 11 first-place votes.  The Stars return three all- conference selections.

Lakeland starts their season against UW-Oshkosh at home in the Muskie Classic Sept. 3-4.
