MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Freshman Chelsea Gile (Grand Junction, Mich.) hit a home run in the seventh inning, but Lakeland College softball team came up short in a 3-2 loss against No. 1 seed Benedictine University in game three of the 2011 Northern Athletics Conference Tournament at Alverno College.

The Muskies (15-25, 15-11 NAC) took a 2-1 lead on Gile's homer in the seventh, but two errors brought home Benedictine's runners for the walk-off win.

Sophomore Erin Henk (Hoopeston, Ill.) got it started for Lakeland as she brought home freshman Brittni Peterson (Elmwood, Wis.) on a sacrifice bunt to tie the game at one in the top of the sixth inning.

Brittany Adcox showed why she was named the NAC's Pitcher of the Year, recording seven strikeouts and giving up two runs on six hits.

Gile led Lakeland offensively as she went 2-for-3 with one run and an RBI. Haeflinger chipped in recording two hits.

Lakeland returns to action this afternoon as they face No. 3 seed Concordia, Wis. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. in a must-win-to advance game.
