Lakeland dominates Concordia Wisconsin in NWA dual

MEQUON, Wis. - The Lakeland College wrestling team beat Concordia Wisconsin 31-13 in a Northern Wrestling Association dual meet Wednesday night in Mequon, Wis.

The Muskies (6-5) earned decisions in six-out-of-ten weight classes and gain momentum heading into the Dan Gable Open on Sunday, Jan. 16 in Oshkosh, Wis.

Sophomore Ryan Renon (Wrightstown, Wis.) and junior Miguel Luis (Oak Lawn, Ill.) led the Muskies at 165 and 174, respectively. Renon earned the 17-1 technical fall over CUW's Josh Nord. Luis also earned a technical fall in a 22-5 victory over Miles Greenblatt.

Junior Rob Forgette (Menominee, Mich.) registered the team's lone pin of the night at 197. Forgette pinned CUW's Ben Hertel in 4:11 to give Lakeland a cushion.

Junior Robby Frias (Oak Lawn, Ill.) and senior Issac Roberson (Chicago, Ill.) earned forfeits at 141 and 157, respectively.
Freshman Jacob Bugajski (Chicago, Ill.) had the 10-6 decision over Jordan Semevolos.

The grapplers return to action as they travel to Oshkosh, Wis., on Sunday, Jan. 16, to participate in the Dan Gable Open. The Open is set for 9 a.m.
