The Lakeland College men's tennis was selected to finish tied for fourth with Concordia University Chicago in the Northern Athletics Conference preseason coaches' poll released Friday.
The Muskies, who finished third at the NAC Championships last season after compiling a 5-3 conference record (8-9 overall) during the regular season, totaled 64 points in the poll.
The Milwaukee School of Engineering was picked to win its second-straight title after finishing a perfect 8-0 record in conference duals. MSOE earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III championship and finished the season with a first-round loss to Carleton.
Concordia, Wis., (11-12, 6-2 NAC) was picked second in the poll with 87 points. The Falcons won the three prior NAC championships before last year's runner-up finish.
Casey Carr enters his first season as Lakeland's head coach and is eager for the season to begin. The Muskies start competition on Saturday, Mar. 5, against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Carthage College in Oshkosh, Wis.
