Davis recognized by NAC

Junior Allison Davis of the Lakeland College women's basketball team has been recognized by the Northern Athletics Conference for her play during the 2010-11 season, as the league announced its all-conference basketball teams Tuesday.

Davis, a 5-foot-11 forward, was one of 13 players named to the NAC's All-Sportsmanship team. The Sheboygan, Wis., native led the team in rebounds per game with 4.8 and she averaged 6.5 points per game. Davis appeared in 17 games this season, starting in 14.

"Allison has made tremendous progress over the last two years," said Lakeland head coach Teri Johnson. "She continues to work hard and have a great attitude every day. She has one of the most coachable attitudes and it makes working with in her practice enjoyable."

Senior forward Erika Laete of Wisconsin Lutheran was named the NAC Player of the Year, while Mike Lane of Dominican garnered Coach of the Year accolades.
