Junior goalkeeper Alex Piekarski (Menasha) recorded nine saves, but the Lakeland College men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss to Concordia University Wisconsin in Northern Athletics Conference action Wednesday afternoon in Mequon, Wis.
The second-place Falcons capped their first goal at the 19:34 mark and scored their second just two minutes later to take a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Concordia Wisconsin would strike again just four minutes after the half and at the 59:36 mark to take a convincing 4-0 conference win.
The Muskies (4-4-3, 2-1-2 NAC) never found their rhythm as their offensive attacks were slowed by the Falcons' defense. Concordia Wisconsin peppered Lakeland's goal, outshooting the Muskies 27-10.
"We did a poor job defending all game long, especially on set pieces," said head coach Tony Pierce. "It was a tough game for us and we never could get into a rhythm. Concordia Wisconsin is a good team and they did what they do well today."
Lakeland returns to NAC action on Saturday, Oct. 8 as they host the first-place Stars of Dominican University at 1 p.m.
