The Lakeland College women's volleyball team lost their Northern Athletics Conference opener on Tuesday night, falling in five games (25-18, 10-25, 25-23, 15-25, 13-15) to Concordia University Wisconsin.
The Muskies (1-8) lost to the Falcons after beating them in their final match of the Pizza Hut Classic last weekend.
The Muskies had plenty of chances but continued to be plagued by inconsistent serving as they committed 14 service errors.
"We played well, just missed serves at key moments," said Lakeland head coach Jon Staabs. "We just lack the confidence to make the plays when we need to. We are a good practice team; it just hasn't translated on the court. We are beating ourselves right now and it's very frustrating."
Sophomore Brittany Reindel (Kenosha, Wis.) led the Muskies with 38 assists and 12 digs, while senior Allison Davis (Sheboygan, Wis.) led the team with 16 kills.
Lakeland returns to action on Friday, Sept. 16, as they travel to Oshkosh, Wis. to take part in the UW-Oshkosh Invitational. Their first match is at 3:30 p.m. against Elmhurst College followed by a 5:30 p.m. match against Martin Luther College.
