Muskies lose second straight, fall to Cougars

The Lakeland College women's volleyball team lost its second consecutive Northern Athletics Conference match on Saturday morning.

The Muskies (6-17, 3-5 NAC) lost in three sets, 3-0 (20-25, 20-25, 22-25) to the Cougars.

Senior middle hitter Allison Davis (Sheboygan, Wis.) led the Muskies with a game-high 10 kills and sophomore outside hitter Anna Faust (Cross Plains, Wis.) had a team-high eight digs.

"We struggled with our serve reception and let it affect the rest of our game," said Lakeland head coach Jon Staabs. "We need to understand that mistakes will happen and we can't let them get us down. It's a disappointing conference loss, but we need to take the season match by match and see what happens."

Lakeland returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 12 as they host Edgewood College for Homecoming. The match begins at 7 p.m.
