Incoming freshmen land gold medal at USA Championships

Three student-athletes who will play for the Lakeland College men's volleyball team this season were part of the team that won the gold medal at the USA High Performance Championships in Tucson, Ariz., on July 26-29.

Incoming Lakeland freshmen Alec Redlich (Wauwatosa, Wis.), Drew Schilz (Brookfield, Wis.) and Dayton Erickson (Westosha, Wis.), are members of the Badger Region Boys Youth National Team, which is coached by Chad Schreiber.

This marks the second-straight year the Badger Region earned a gold medal at the USA Championships. The Badger Region claimed its undisputed championship after beating the Ohio Valley Region in the championship game. The team also beat four USA Development Squads en route to its 9-0 gold medal performance.

Lakeland sophomore Brett Kaczmarek (Kenosha, Wis.) was a member of the 2010 gold medal Badger Region team.
