Romagnoli named to preseason DIII All-State team

Junior Bruce Romagnoli has been named to the Inside Wisconsin Sports preseason Division III All-State football team.

The 6-foot linebacker earned first team All-Northern Athletics Conference recognition last season after averaging nine tackles per contest, good for third-best in the conference. Romagnoli also tallied nine tackles for loss as part of a Lakeland defense that was ranked third in total defense.

"This is a great honor for Bruce as he was only a sophomore last year," said head coach Kevin Doherty. "His stats only reflect the last eight games due to a knee injury. We look forward to his continued excellence on the field and leadership in the locker room."

The Iron Mountain, Mich., native will help lead the Muskies' defense in the competitive NAC. Romagnoli was one of four players from the NAC receiving preseason All-State recognition.
