MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Lakeland College softball rallied back from a 2-0 deficit in the first inning to earn a 7-4 win against Concordia University Wisconsin in game five of the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament Friday afternoon.

The Muskies improve to 20-18, and with the win head coach Chad Buchmann ties Lakeland's all time wins record of 164. He'll have the chance to beat it when the Muskies take on the winner between Dominican University and Marian University at 5 p.m. today.

Lakeland fell behind early in the game as they gave up two runs in the first inning, but quickly answered in the second. Junior McKenna Wenzel got it started for the Muskies when she singled to bring in freshman Kaitlyn Hoffmann to make it a 2-1 game.

Junior Jenny LaLuzerne gave the Muskies the lead when she singled to bring in two runs in the third inning. Freshman Kaitlyn Hoffmann extended the lead when she hit a solo home run in the fourth inning.

The Falcons rallied back in the fifth and sixth innings scoring one run in each to tie the game at four heading into the seventh inning. But it wasn't enough to stop the Muskies.

Sophomore Sammy Rieder started Lakeland's late rally in the seventh as she singled and was walked in by junior Erin Henk. Hoffmann followed with a single to bring in junior Heather Haeflinger while senior Leah Sheahan advanced home on a muffed throw to give Lakeland a 7-4 lead and advance to game seven in the NAC Tournament.

Hoffmann led the Muskies at the plate going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Rieder finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Henk pitched a phenomenal game in the circle for Lakeland, slowing the Falcons to six hits. She recorded two strikeouts and picked up her 15th win of the season.
