Junior forward Jake Schwarz scored a game-high 33 points and sophomore forward Justin Ward recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Lakeland College men's basketball team to a 94-83 win against Beloit College Tuesday night in the Moose and Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.

The Muskies (1-1) and the Buccaneers (0-3) went back and forth for the majority of the first half, but Lakeland was able to take a four point lead at half. Schwarz (Sheboygan) hit a 3-pointer with 2:20 left in the half to give Lakeland its first lead, 35-31

Lakeland never relinquished its lead and went up by as much as 20 in the second half. Beloit was able to cut the lead to 10 with 1:43 left to play, but the hot-shooting Muskies hit eight of their last 10 shots for a convincing non-conference win.

Junior point guard Josh Regal (Suring) hit four-of-eight shots from the field and scored 20 points. Senior Jack Ridgway (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and sophomore James Oshkeshequoam (Shawano) scored 10 points apiece, while Ridgway went a perfect six-for-six from the free throw line.

For the game, Lakeland shot 45 percent from the field and an impressive 81.1 percent from the charity stripe.
