Lakeland (11-3, 5-1 NAC) took an early lead in the first half and held the Pioneers to just four points at the 12:13 mark. Ward helped the Muskies build a 47-26 advantage at halftime with 12 points on 4-for-7 shooting.
Senior Josh Regal and junior Jake Schwarz opened up the second half with back-to-back 3-pointers to extend Lakeland's lead to 27 points, a lead which built to as many as 39. Schwarz ended the night with a team-high 21 points and nine rebounds, while Regal recorded eight points and seven assists.
The Muskies scored 38 points from the bench led by sophomore Stan McKenzie who scored 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting.
For the game, Lakeland shot an impressive 86.2 percent from the free throw line and 46.3 percent from the field. Defensively, the Muskies forced 20 turnovers and held Northland to 9.1 percent from 3-point range and 33.9 percent from the field.

The Muskies return to Northern Athletics Conference action on Jan. 17 as they host Concordia University Wisconsin in a battle for first place in the North Division. Tip is 7 p.m. in Woltzen Gym.
