The Muskies dropped a well played game to the UW-Whitewater Warhawks 2-1 on Wednesday, Sept. 14. Sophomore midfielder Ben Volz took a shot from near the top of the box and curved it into the upper right hand corner of the net to put the Warhawks up 2-0 in the 65th minute.
"I think we put together some good soccer there," said head coach Marc Colwell. "We are getting closer to putting 90 minutes together were we can play the way we want to play. We did a lot better (tonight) that was a very tough team, they are regionally ranked and have been in the NCAA tournament the last four or five years and will be in it again this year. We played with them, we are on the right path."
The Warhawks got on board first when senior forward Bob Moelter put the ball in the back of the net off a corner kick 20:09 into the first half.
In the 71st minute the Muskies got on the board when junior forward Scott Kress received a pass from freshman Ted Cormier and Kress kicked the ball into an open net.
The Muskies will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 17 to take on Aurora University at 3:30p.m.
