Faller named to preseason CDS Division III All-American Team

Lakeland College senior Tony Faller received honorable mention 2011 Consensus Draft Services Division III Preseason All-American honors.

The 6-foot-2, 195-lb defensive back was named second team All-Northern Athletics Conference last season after averaging 7.6 tackles per game good for sixth-best in the conference. He also had 14 tackles for a loss, second-best in the conference for a defense that was ranked third in total defense.

"Faller is a great leader for this team, and this is a great honor for him," said head coach Kevin Doherty. "He had a great year last year. We will need him to take another step in his game and be the emotional leader, not just on defense, but for the entire team."

The Oostburg, Wis., native is the only player from the NAC named to the CDS Preseason All-American team.
