The Lakeland College women's soccer team has been selected to finish 10th in the Northern Athletics Conference coaches' preseason poll, the league announced late Tuesday night.
The Muskies finished ninth last season with a 4-8 record in NAC play, 5-13 overall. Seniors Kristi Borts (Milwaukee), Dana Schmidt (Menasha) and Lindsay Rogers (Sheboygan) will help lead a young squad.
Five-time defending NAC champion Aurora grabbed the first-place slot with 11 of 13 first-place votes and 161 points. Dominican followed in the No. 2 spot with 150 points.
Lakeland's home and season opener is slated for Friday, Sept. 2, at 4:30 p.m. against St. Norbert College. The team starts conference play on Tuesday, Sept. 6, on the road against Alverno.
