Muskies ready for fall season

As the leaves begin to change, the Lakeland College softball team will begin the 2011-12 softball campaign. There are number of scheduled events that will take place this month that the coaching staff is excited about.

On Saturday, Sept. 17, the fall portion of the season starts for the Muskies when Lakeland hosts its annual alumni game at 10:30 a.m. The annual alumni game gives current Lakeland players a chance to measure themselves against graduates of the program. There will be a cook-out following the game.

On Sunday, Oct. 2, from 12-3 p.m., the Muskies will hold their annual Blue vs. Gold scrimmage, which allows the coaches a chance to evaluate the team in game-like situations.

The fall season concludes on Sunday, Oct. 9, with the Muskies fall competition date against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The game will take place in Oshkosh, Wis., and is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and last until 4 p.m.
