The Lakeland College women's volleyball team returns to action with their home opener this week as well as a trip to Ripon, Wis. for the Red Hawk Invitational.

In their first home contest of 2011, the Muskies (2-11, 0-1 NAC) play host to Northern Athletics Conference foe Alverno College on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. Lakeland will open play at the Red Hawk Invitational with two matches on Friday, Sept. 23. Their first match will be against St. Mary's College at 4 p.m., followed by an 8 p.m. match against University of Wisconsin-Marathon.

Lakeland is coming off a 1-4 mark in last week's play. The team suffered a tough five set loss in the NAC opener against Concordia University Wisconsin. The Muskies ended their trip to the UW-Oshkosh Invitational with a 1-3 record, beating Martin Luther College in five sets on Friday. Sophomore setter Brittany Reindl (Kenosha, Wis.) had 45 assists and three aces while the front line played well with senior Allison Davis (Sheboygan, Wis.) leading the way with 15 kills and five blocks, including five kills in game five to get the win.
