Muskies cancel scrimmage, will play Oshkosh

With two weeks remaining in their fall ball season, the Lakeland College softball team has been forced to cancel its annual Blue/Gold intersquad scrimmage originally scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 2. The field has been deemed unplayable by head coach Chad Buchmann and therefore Lakeland will have just one more competitive practice this fall.

Lakeland will travel to Oshkosh, Wis. for their lone day of competition next Sunday, Oct. 9. They will play two games starting at noon against Cardinal Stritch University, followed by a game against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The two teams will then simulate some game-like situations around 4 p.m.

The Muskies open the regular season on March 10, 2012 in Tucson, Ariz. as they take part in the Tucson Invitational games.
