- ABOUT LAKELAND

The Lakeland Muskies traveled to Marian on Tuesday, Sept. 20 and walked away with a 3-0 victory. The Muskies swept the match with scores of 30-27, 30-20, and 30-18. With the victory Lakeland improved to 7-3 overall and 4-3 in the LMC.
"The difference in tonight was that our best players came through," said head coach Chad Schreiber. "You can see by the stats we got the contributions we have come to expect out of them. We still are fighting some confidence issues that got us in trouble and we are at times missing the serving we need. But if we can rely on our seniors to be stable contributors, the whole team will follow suit."
The Muskies closed out the match when they went on a 13-1 run to end game three. Seniors Heather Herberlein (15 kills, .433%, two blocks), Danielle Duranceau (11 kills, .292%, nine digs, two aces), Nikki Boeckh (11 kills, .588%, three blocks, two aces) and Lana Neuman (38 assists, three aces, 10 digs) led the team to the victory. The team hit .224 overall as well.
The Muskies now will prepare to close the long road stand with a tough tournament at UW-Whitewater Friday and Saturday. Following the tournament will play their second home match of the season on Sept. 27 against Alverno at 7p.m.
