The Lakeland College women's volleyball team begins a crucial week of play, as they close out their Northern Athletics Conference schedule.
The Muskies (6-18, 3-6 NAC) are one game out in the race for the number eight seed in the conference tournament.
Lakeland concludes NAC play this week, beginning with two road contests beginning with eighth seeded Marian University (6-20, 3-5 NAC) on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. followed by a trip to Milwaukee on Friday, Oct. 21, to play MSOE (9-16, 2-6 NAC) at 7 p.m.
The Muskies conclude their week with their final regular season home contest on Saturday, Oct. 22 at noon against seventh seeded Rockford College (7-9, 4-4 NAC).
Lakeland is coming off a 0-1 week which saw them lose in four sets to Edgewood College on Homecoming. "We played well in game one," said Lakeland College head coach Jon Staabs. "We struggled to serve receive in the second game and we just couldn't recover. We've been good when we are in-system; however, when we get out of system we aren't effective. We just need to learn to be better out of system and we can be more competitive."
