Three members of the Lakeland College volleyball program were recognized as the Northern Athletics Conference announced its 2011 All-NAC Women's volleyball teams on Thursday, Nov. 3.
Senior middle hitter Allison Davis (Sheboygan, Wis.) was named second team, while sophomore Amanda Dillman (Sheboygan, Wis.) earned honorable mention accolades. Junior Taylor Daus (Green Bay, Wis.) was named to the all-sportsmanship team.
Davis was named second team for the second straight year. Davis was the team's top offensive threat with 19 aces and a team-high 300 kills. She was also the team's top blocker with 98.
"Allison has grown in her leadership ability this year," Lakeland head coach Jon Staabs said. "Her competitiveness helped lead this team to the NAC tournament. Allison works hard and has been a great example for this young team."
Dillman, a middle hitter, stepped up to help lead this young Muskie squad. She was second on the team with 276 kills while recording a team-high .277 hitting percentage. She also led the team with 39 aces and was second in blocks (76).
"Amanda is a great young talent and a reason this program will continue to be successful," Staabs said. "She's got that desire to win and she pushes her teammates to be better. She has the talent to take over for Allison and I expect big things from her next season."
Daus was selected to the all-sportsmanship team for her attitude on and off the court. She has been a team leader and always provides support for her teammates.
"Taylor has been a pleasure to coach," Staabs said. "She didn't get as much playing time as last year, but she was still up beat, kept a positive attitude and supported her teammates. She showed her character and she embodied sportsmanship on this team."
