The Lakeland College wrestling team opens its season tomorrow as they hit the road to take on the No. 19-ranked Pointers of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The dual is at 7 p.m. at Pulaski High School, 1040 S. St. Augustine St., Pulaski, Wis.
The Muskies round out the week hosting the first annual Muskie Invite on Saturday. No. 11 North Central College, No. 24 University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and No. 19 UW-Stevens Point are among the field of competitors. Competition begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Wehr Center Fieldhouse.
The Pointers placed third in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference last year and earned a 33-9 dual decision over Lakeland last November. Sophomore Grant Franson had a 12-8 decision over Brad Kuehn at the 125-pound weight class. Senior Robby Frias added to the mix with a 6-5 decision over Shane Sweeney at 141. The Muskies hope to come out on top in this year's dual.
