This week, the Lakeland College men's volleyball team travels to Champaign, Ill., on Feb. 18-19, to take part in the Hoosier-Illini Classic.
Last week, the Muskies struggled in Wisconsin Volleyball Conference play, going 0-2 in competition at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater and the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.
In Wednesday's 3-2 (25-23, 20-25, 25-14, 24-26, 13-15) loss to UW-Whitewater, freshman outside hitter Alec Redlich (Wauwatosa, Wis.) had a team-high 22 kills and six aces. Senior middle hitter Beau Bradshaw (Oak Lawn, Ill.) finished with 12 kills, while freshman setter Dayton Erickson tallied 42 assists and added three aces. The Lakeland defense tallied a total of 50 digs in the loss.
On Sunday, Lakeland lost in three sets, 3-0 (19-25, 23-25, 43-45), to UW-La Crosse. Against the Eagles, Redlich once again played well, tallying 18 kills, while Bradshaw added six kills and four blocks. Erickson collected 39 assists, while senior libero Andrew Cheever (Greenfield, Wis.) led Lakeland with 15 digs.
