- ABOUT LAKELAND
This week, the Lakeland College men's volleyball team hosts the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association - Midwest 10 Volleyball Conference Play Day and Championship on Saturday, March 3, beginning at 9 a.m.
The first three matches of the day consist of the completion of round-robin competition, which will help seed the teams for tournament play. In their first match, Lakeland will play National Collegiate Volleyball Federation No. 1 Notre Dame at 9 a.m. on court one, followed by a match against Marquette University at 11 a.m., also on court one. Their seed will be determined after the completion of the 11 a.m. matches.
Tournament schedules and updates can be found here.
Last week, the Muskies (10-11, 4-4 WVC) finally put together a solid day of volleyball, winning six of seven sets against the University of Wisconsin - Stout Blue Devils.
In the first match, Lakeland found a rhythm and swept the Blue Devils, 3-0 (25-11, 25-22, 25-12). In the second match, Lakeland battled hard and overcame a minor hiccup, winning in four sets, 3-1 (25-22, 29-27, 19-25, 25-19).
The Muskies hope to improve their national ranking and gain momentum as they set their sights on a national championship.
