This Week in Softball

The Lakeland College softball team opens its 2012 campaign this Sunday at the team's annual trip to the Tucson Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.

The Muskies open the season with a doubleheader on Sunday against McKendree University and the University of Dubuque at 5:30 and 8 p.m., respectively.

Lakeland plays 10 games over a six-day stretch in Tucson and is hoping to come back ready for Northern Athletics Conference play on March 28. The Muskies will depend on the experience of their returners to lead the team in its demanding opening week.
