Lakeland women's soccer powers past Eagles with second half barrage

Liz Pritzl (Jr.-Cedar Grove, Wis.) recorded her second straight hat trick and Lakeland College scored nine goals in the second half for an easy 12-0 win over Robert Morris University-Lake County Sunday afternoon.

The Muskies picked up their second straight blowout win, defeating the overmatched Eagles to improve to 3-3 overall on the season. Lakeland's three wins this season have come by a combined score of 24-1.

Pritzl scored four times, with all four of her goals coming in a span of 7:52 in the second half and giving her seven goals in the past two matches. In all the Muskies scored eight times in a stretch of 13:31 to pull away from the Eagles after leading 3-0 at halftime.

Hannah Landgraf (Sr.-Elkhart Lake, Wis.), Kelly Jens (Fr.-Sheboygan Falls, Wis.) and Krystina Cook (So.-Des Plaines, Ill.) all scored two goals each for Lakeland. Libby DeClark (Fr.-Kingsford, Mich.) and Brittni Peterson (So.-Elmwood, Wis.) also added one goal each. Peterson recorded a goal and an assist in the field in the second half after playing the first half in goal, where she did not have to make a save in picking up the win.

Lakeland outshot Robert Morris 37-1, with the Eagles taking the first shot of the game before the Muskies dominated play the rest of the way. Peterson and Ali Thompson (Fr.-Plymouth, Wis.) combined to play in goal and did not make a save for the Muskies, who were coming off an 8-0 win over Rockford (Ill.) College on Saturday.

Carina Bravo made ten saves in goal for Robert Morris-Lake County, a branch school in the Robert Morris University system based in Chicago and a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. Bravo made nine of her saves in the first half, including several saves from point-blank range as her play kept the Eagles in the match despite Lakeland the visitors 24-1 in the first 45 minutes.

Lakeland gets back into Northern Athletics Conference play Wednesday when it faces Concordia University Wisconsin at 4:30 p.m. in Mequon.
