Along with being home for Homecoming, the Lakeland College women's volleyball team will also be participating in the Dig Pink initiative with a pair of home matches this weekend.
The Muskies will host Dominican (Ill.) University Friday night at 7 p.m. and Concordia University Chicago on Saturday at 2 p.m. At both matches the team will have a number of different baskets to raffle off, with proceeds going to support breast cancer awareness.
Prizes in the baskets to be raffled off will include gift certificates to the Wisconsin Dells as well as music CDs and holiday-themed items. Tickets will be $3 each or five tickets for $10 and will be sold at both matches. Winners will be picked at the end of the match Saturday against Concordia, and those buying the tickets need not be present to win.
Dig Pink is a fundraising event of The Side-Out Foundation, an organization committed to raising money for breast cancer research. College volleyball teams across the country will be participating in Dig Pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
