Lakeland looks for two wins in a row on the gridiron

Athletics - posted on 10/11/2012

The Lakeland College football team will be aiming for its second straight win when it travels to face Maranatha Baptist Bible College Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in Watertown in a Northern Athletics Conference matchup.

The Muskies are coming off a 31-7 Homecoming win over Rockford last week to improve to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the NAC. Maranatha Baptist is winless on the season at 0-5 overall (0-2 in conference) and is coming off of a 55-8 loss to Concordia University Wisconsin last week.

Lakeland holds a 12-2 lead in the all-time series between the two schools, who are meeting for the final time in NAC play. Maranatha Baptist announced in May that it is withdrawing from the NAC after the season to compete as an NCAA Division III independent.

A live audio broadcast of the game will be available at www.lakelend.edu/muskieslive, then click on the computer screen with the Muskie logo in the center of the page.
