Lakeland College goalkeeper Alex Piekarski (Sr.-Menasha, Wis.) has been named to the All-Northern Athletics Conference Second Team for the 2012 men's soccer season, as the league's all-conference awards were announced Tuesday.

Piekarski was the lone Muskie men's or women's soccer team honored on the NAC's all-conference teams for the season and caps his career having received honors all four years. He was named to the NAC All-Freshman Team as a freshman, Second Team All-NAC as a sophomore and First Team All-NAC last year.

Piekarski capped a great career by starting all 19 matches for the Muskies this season. He played all 1778:03 in goal for Lakeland and made 130 saves with a .681 save percentage and a 3.09 goals against average. Piekarski kept the Muskies in many games this season as the team struggled through a 2-14-3 record for the season.

The senior was a rock in goal for Lakeland for the past four years and the team's only goalkeeper since assuming the starting job midway through his freshman season. Piekarski never came out of the lineup again, starting 62 consecutive matches to close his career and playing 5846:02 consecutively over that time. He recorded 18 wins while making 378 career saves and posting a .721 career save percentage and a career 2.11 goals against average.

Piekarski finished his career ranked second all-time in Lakeland men's soccer history in career saves and fourth in goals against average. He also is second in school history in shutouts with ten.

Jordan Werner of Milwaukee School of Engineering was named the NAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year, while Krzysztof Lagowski of Dominican (Ill.) University is the Defensive Player of the Year. Erick Baumann of Dominican is the conference's Coach of the Year and Logan Andryk of MSOE was named NAC Freshman of the Year.
