McCauley is Muskie of the Week after strong debut

Lakeland College freshman Marcus McCauley (Hillpoint, Wis.) is the latest recipient of the Muskie of the Week award.

McCauley receives the award after a solid performance in his first-ever collegiate wrestling meet. He finished third in the 141 lb. weight class at Lakeland's own Muskie Invitational on Saturday, posting a 4-1 record in the class. McCauley defeated John Roycroft of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point by a 10-4 decision in the first round and pinned Ode Osbourne of the Pioneer Wrestling Club at 6:44 in his second match. He was defeated by major decision by Matt Adcock of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, but came back to pin teammate Juan Diaz and then won a 7-2 decision over Justin Schienebeck of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for third place in the bracket.
