Athletics - posted on 1/26/2013

Matt Bilinski (Jr.-Batavia, Ill.) had 15 kills against UW-Stout and Brett Kaczmarek (Jr.-Kenosha, Wis.) recorded double figure kills in all three matches as the Lakeland College men's volleyball team swept three matches against Wisconsin Volleyball Conference teams Saturday at Woltzen Gymnasium.

The Muskies defeated UW-Stout in four sets before sweeping UW-Stevens Point and UW-La Crosse in three sets each in the abbreviated WVC Playdate weekend. Originally scheduled to be a two-day event, the invitational was shortened to one day due to a forecasted winter storm on Sunday, and teams' Saturday schedules were extended to three games as the result of having the two games on Sunday cancelled.

Bolnius led Lakeland (4-1 overall) in its 20-25, 25-14, 25-13, 25-14 win over Stout. Alec Redlich (So.-Wauwatosa, Wis.) added 13 kills and Kaczmarek 11 kills, and Dayton Erickson (So.-Trevor, Wis.) dished out 40 assists.

The Muskies dominated Stevens Point in the second game, defeating the Pointers 25-15, 25-11, 25-12. Kaczmarek led the team with 13 kills while Cole Aiazzi (So.-Yerington, Nev.) added seven service aces as well as nine assists.

Lakeland added a game with UW-La Crosse Saturday night that was originally scheduled for Sunday, as all eight teams played one of their originally scheduled Sunday games on Saturday night. The Muskies handled the Eagles 25-19, 25-18, 25-17. Redlich finished with 13 kills and Kaczmarek added 12, while Erickson had 35 assists.
