Steve Plucinski named to the Northwoods League All-Star Game
July 22, 2004
Steve Plucinski, a pitcher from Mundelein, Ill., who recently completed his junior year at Lakeland, was named to the Northwoods League All-Star Game for the second straight year this summer.

Plucinski, who pitches for the Duluth Huskies, was a member of the South Division team, which lost to the North all-stars 12-0 in a contest played in July in Wausau.

Plucinski was one of only two NCAA Division III players picked for the game. The Northwoods League is comprised of teams of the top college players from the Midwest and across the nation who have NCAA eligibility remaining in order to participate.

This summer, Plucinski announced he will transfer to the University of Arizona for the upcoming school year to complete his college career. Plucinski is hoping to get drafted by a major league baseball team, and did several workouts for major league teams during his time at Lakeland.

Plucinski earned Second Team All-Regions honors this past spring for the second consecutive year. Plucinski was named First Team All-Region as a freshman when he also was a Third Team All-American.
