Lakeland College Football Family Mission Statement

The Lakeland College Football Family supports the mission of Lakeland College by providing student athletes exceptional opportunities that will enhance their ability to become educated young men who will be able to earn a living, make ethical decisions, and lead purposeful and fulfilling lives distinguished by intellectual, moral and spiritual growth. We will sustain a strong base of support by fielding a football team that will provide a positive public identity for Lakeland College.

Values and Commitments

Education:

We are committed to provide our players the tools needed for a quality educational experience. Our football players are students first, and athletes second. Nothing will come in the way of our player's academic endeavors. The values that our young men learn throughout their playing careers will enhance their academic experience and build within them self-esteem, self-confidence, effective communication skills and an appreciation for life-long learning.

Integrity:

The highest sense of integrity shall characterize every aspect of our football program. Every member of our football family will exemplify impeccable integrity.

Loyalty:

All members of our football family will have an unwavering loyalty to their faith, their family, each other and to Lakeland College.

Class:

We will constantly work to be the class of NCAA Division III Football. All members of our football family will act with class at all times, be it in the classroom, in the community or on the playing field.

Respect:

We will be committed to create a climate of mutual respect throughout our football family. The culture of our football family will be diverse in its make-up. Respect will be given to all members of our family regardless of their heritage, race or beliefs. This respect is what creates a close-knit family whose bond will never be broken.

Excellence:

We will strive for excellence in everything we do. We will set high expectations and work to reach them every single day. Everything that we do must be geared towards achieving these high expectations. Nothing can stand in the way of achieving excellence in all facets of our lives.

Respect Tradition:

At all times, we must respect the proud tradition of Lakeland College Football. Many young men have worn the uniforms and coaching gear that we are wearing now and everything we do as a member of the Lakeland College Football Family is a direct reflection on them. We must understand this, and constantly work to make these men proud to be associated with Lakeland College Football. We must continue to demonstrate the intense pride, loyalty and commitment to giving back to the community that these men did when they were in our shoes.
