Outlook: This is the season opener for both teams and it is believed to be the first time they have ever played each other. Both teams sport new coaches with Jim Zebrowski at Lakeland and Bob Frey at Tri-State. Zebrowski is making his head coaching debut while Frey is a seasoned veteran who won six conference championships at MacMurray College before moving on. In fact, last season Frey led the highlanders to a 10-1 record and the Illini-Badger Football Conference championship with a perfect 7-0 mark. Both teams will have new looks as Lakeland moves away from the run-and-shoot offense ran for the past nine years, and moves to a multiple offensive scheme based on balance between the run and the pass. Expect the Muskies to be driven by a power running attack and play action passing scheme, with multiple formations and motions along with various personnel packages. Tri-State will bring a new two-back system to the offensive and expects to be fundamentally strong in all three phases of the game.

Coaches: Jim Zebrowski (0-0) is in his first year as a head coach. Bob Frey is in his first year at Tri-State but was 57-25 in eight years at MacMurray, a member of the Illini-Badger Football Conference.

Last Year: Did not play. It is believed to be the first match-up between the two schools

Up Next: The Muskies travel to Carthage on September 13th with kickoff scheduled for 7pm. _
