Muskies Get First Conference Victory of Season
Jan. 13, 2004
The Lakeland College Men's Basketball didn't have to beat the Wisconsin Lutheran
Warriors in every aspect of the game; they just had to beat them where it counts
the most, on the scoreboard. They did just that on their way to a 67-63 win
on January 13.
Cory Nickel, who hit five of the Muskies six three pointers, led the way with 24 points for the Muskies, while Nick Zeck added a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Wisconsin Lutheran, who dominated the offensive glass, could not get anything to fall, shooting just 36.5 percent for the game. The Muskies, who took a 32-30 lead into half, were able to capitalize by answering with 51 percent shooting from the floor.
John Urbanek, B.J. Miller, and Kevin Christensen all scored in double digits for the Warrior with 18, 14, and 13 points, respectively. Christensen made only two of his 18 field goal shots.
With the win, the Muskies improved their overall record to 6-9 and their conference
record to 1-2.
