Dec. 6, 2003

Despite their 46 percent shooting, the Lakeland College men's basketball team turned the ball over 31 times, giving the visiting Concordia Falcons the 79-58 victory Saturday afternoon at Lakeland.

Cory Nickel led the way for the Muskies with a team-high 17 points, but Ryan Wietor of the Falcons stole the show with 25 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Eric Wilbee collected a team-high seven rebounds for Lakeland, while Ryan Hiir and Nickel added six each.

The Muskies led at halftime, 32-29, but the Falcons pulled away with a 56.7 second half shooting percentage and terrific free throw shooting at 21 of 22 (95.5 percent for the game).

The loss opened the conference schedule on a bad note for the Muskies, who dropped to 0-1 in the conference and 2-4 overall.

They will look to rebound from the tough loss Tuesday, December 9, against Edgewood College in Madison at 7 p.m.
