Aaron Aanonsen
Head Coach
Aanonsen enters his first year as head coach of the men's program after serving as the
head women's golf coach during his first year at Lakeland last season.
Prior to Lakeland, the Central Wisconsin native was the second assistant at Minnesota State University Moorhead where he worked with head coach Stu Engen.
Before Aanonsen began his coaching career, he played basketball at UW-La Crosse,
and was elected team captain as a senior in 2004-05. He graduated
with highest honors with a bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science - sport management.
During his time at UW-L, Aanonsen served as an athletic department intern at Viterbo
University under athletic director Barry Fried, and also coached AAU Youth Club basketball
teams in central Wisconsin.
He also received his master's degree in educational leadership - activities
management from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2007.
Aaron and his wife, Brye, reside in Sheboygan. She is a member
of Lakeland's admissions staff. They have a newborn daughter,
Ambryn.
He also serves Lakeland as assistant men's basketball coach and is a fitness studies instructor.
