Men's Soccer Alumni Game Set For August 28th

The Lakeland College men's Alumni Soccer match is slated for Saturday, August 28th at 1:00 p.m. All former players and coaches are invited to play in the game. If you are interested in participating in this annual event, please email Coach Colwell at colwellmj@lakeland.edu. The women's team plays an exhibition game against Cardinal Stritch College beforehand on the Lakeland match field at 11:00 a.m. The games will be followed by a team picnic at 4:00 p.m. in the Campus Center.

Lakeland College men's soccer player and Kiel native Scott Kress is ranked 28th in NCAA Division III in goals per game (.94) with 16 goals in 17 games. Kress is just outside of the top 20 as there are 11 players tied for17th place with a 1.00 goals per game average. Kress is one of only four freshmen to crack the national top 30 in this category.

The Lakeland College Men's Soccer Team will travel to Madison to play the Eagles of Edgewood College in the semi-finals of the Lake Michigan Conference tournament on Tuesday, November 4th. The game is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start under the lights at Breese Stevens Stadium in downtown Madison. The Muskies defeated Maranatha Baptist 4-0 in the first round while the Eagles took care of Wisconsin Lutheran 3-1 to set up this re-match. Scott Kress of Lakeland College, a freshman forward from Kiel, WI (Kiel H.S.) was named the LMC Player of the Week for Sept. 22nd to the 28th.
Kress scored both goals as the Lakeland College men defeated UW Platteville 2-1. The game winning goal, his fifth of the season, came with just 33 seconds remaining. The win improved the Muskies to 3-6 on the season.
