College
April 17, 2004
Sheboygan, Wisconsin-Lakeland College Soccer Coach Marc Colwell announced that
Bryan Stokes has committed to play soccer this fall.
Stokes played two years of high school soccer at Nequa Valley High School in
Naperville, Illinois. However, Stokes did not play high school soccer as a senior
as he trained year-round as a member of the Chicago Sockers' FC "Top Talent"
team.
The Chicago Sockers, one of the top club teams in Illinois, are coached by David
Richardson. During his two seasons at Nequa Valley, Stokes compiled an impressive
.47 Goals Against Average while helping leading the team to a 37-6-5 record
over that span. He twice earned Honorable Mention All-Area from the Daily Herald.
Stokes was also a member of the 1997 Illinois Olympic Development team and was
in the Illinois state ODP pool in 2002.
"Bryan has shown the ability to become a great goalkeeper for us at Lakeland",
Colwell said. "He is a great organizer and distributor from the back and
can make the big saves."
