Men's Soccer Stays Unbeaten In LMC
October 8, 2003

Sheboygan, WI- The Lakeland men's soccer team defeated the Red Raiders of Milwaukee School of Engineering in a hard fought 1-0 contest. With the win the Muskies improved their record to 5-7-1 overall, but most importantly moved their Lake Michigan Conference record to 2-0-1. The Muskies have not allowed a goal in conference play which now spans 290 minutes of play.

Freshman forward Scott Kress (Kiel) provided all the scoring needed as he took a Ryan Holl (Plymouth, Indiana) clearance and flicked it over the onrushing Raiders keeper.

The Muskies out shot the Raiders 19-8 for the game, but could not add to their lead. The Raiders Ben Herrman kept MSOE in the game by clearing two sure goals off the goal line in the 2nd half.

Sophomore goalkeeper Joe Silverberg (South Bend, Indiana) earned his 3rd shutout of the season with 3 saves.

The Lakeland men will return to action this Saturday at Ripon College at 2 p.m. in a non-conference affair.
