Teran Named Player Of The Year In LMC For Men's Soccer
Nov. 20, 2003

Carmelo Teran, a senior forward from Leon, Spain, was named the Lake Michigan Conference Player of the Year.

Teran finished with just 4 points in conference play on 1 goal and 2 assists, but was important in setting up his teammate's scoring opportunities. Many opponents set their defense to stop Teran, allowing other Muskies, especially freshman Scott Kress, to step up.

On the season Teran finished with 9 points on 2 goals and 5 assists on 26 shots despite being a marked man. Injuries limited Teran to 15 games played out of the 19 Muskie contests.

Teran actually has another year of eligibility for the Muskies but will be graduating this spring.

"I'm excited for Carmelo and his accomplishments," said head coach Marc Colwell. "It's a true honor to be selected by the coaches in the conference as the best overall player."
